03_color_printA movement educator and Thai Bodywork practitioner, Janine began her practice of Pilates over 15 years ago. With a background in yoga, dance and equestrian sports, she completed the BASI Pilates Comprehensive Training program in 2008. Motivated to advance whole body wellness and the joy of efficient, elegant movement, she specializes in helping others gain enhanced awareness of their postural habits, balance muscular development and strengthen towards a more graceful posture.

Believing that movement should be a mindful experience accessible to all, her customized approach is a unique combination of Pilates resistance work, Yoga balances, fascial release techniques and Thai stretches. The results are improved core stability and increased strength, healthier movement choices and the cultivation of a disciplined mental focus. Janine continues to refine her interest in the development of deep core strength and the integration of biomechanics into movement instruction with continuing education in anatomy, kinesiology and corrective exercise. She has trained in and has experience working with scoliosis, sacroiliac discomfort, spinal dysfunctions, osteoporosis and postural imbalances. She has a particular interest in promoting women’s health and has completed training in Prenatal and Postnatal Exercise. She has also completed training in Core Align, SmartSpine© and Bodhi Suspension Training as well as studying Fascial Release work with Marie Jose Blom and Dr. Fernando Bertolucci. Janine holds certifications from the BASI Pilates Comprehensive Training Program, the Pilates Method Alliance, and the Thai Bodywork School of Thai Massage in Evanston, Illinois. She has completed training in Abdominal Massage with Felicity Joy as well as Advanced Training in Thai Bodywork in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Janine has a deep love and appreciation for the visual arts and holds a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art.
