I am new to Pilates. How should I begin?
As a new client you are invited to purchase a Intro Package of three private sessions at a reduced cost. This package offers a gateway to understanding optimal alignment, Pilates cueing and basic choreography. If you have particular challenges or past/current injuries, these session are an opportunity to learn how to safely modify the exercises frequently practiced in group classes. I am recovering from an injury. Can you work with me?
Yes, we are experienced in creating options and exercise modifications for people dealing with injuries, chronic pain and physical limitations. Please consult your physician for approval prior to beginning your training with us.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable athletic clothing that facilitates movement. We generally practice in bare feet although you may prefer to wear socks. Indoor athletic shoes are recommended for Core Align and Bodhi. Centered on North is not responsible for any lost or stolen personal items.
Please respect everyone sharing the space with you and refrain from wearing perfumes or colognes to the studio.
Do I need to bring anything?
You do not need to bring your own mat. We provide chilled filtered water and encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle. You may choose to bring indoor gym shoes if you will be utilizing the Core Align or Bodhi.
Where do I park?
Metered parking is available on Hudson Avenue and North Avenue immediately in front of the studio. Free street parking is sometimes available on Cleveland, Hudson and Sedgewick north of North Avenue. Please check posted street signs for restrictions and availability.
What should I do when I arrive?
You will be entering a space where a session may be in progress, please enter quietly. It is best to arrive 5-10 minutes early to remove your footwear at the entrance, put away your belongings, silence your cell phone and prepare for your session. We provide a storage space for your purses, packs and outerwear, a changing room and secured lockers.
Do not perform Pilates or other exercise under the influence of alcohol or any drug (including prescription drugs) that may alter your ability to judge your physical capabilities.
Please consult your physician before starting any new exercise regimen, especially if you have health issues. Inform the instructor of any serious health conditions such as neck, back or joint injuries, heart disease, high blood pressure, recent surgery, osteoporosis or pregnancy.
Group equipment classes may be paid for online. VISA and MasterCard are accepted. Group equipment packages expire within 3 months of date of purchase.
Payment for private and duet sessions is made directly to the instructor. Private packages expire within 6 months of date of purchase.
New client introductory packages & special offers expire one month from the date of purchase, unless otherwise specified under the promotion.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please understand that we require you to provide 24 hours notice in order to avoid being charged the full rate for your session. Reservations for a spot in group equipment classes may be cancelled online. Private and duet sessions are cancelled directly with the instructor.
The remaining value of any package shall be refundable within 3 days from date of purchase, in the event of the relocation of a customer’s residence to farther than 25 miles from the center’s facilities, if the customer, because of death or disability is unable to use or receive all services paid for (providing proof from a medical professional).
